Pelt Christmas 2011

We began our Christmas celebrations with the Pelt family Christmas this weekend. It is always a good time full of good food and laughter. This year was no exception. We had our lunch and then the kids got to open their presents in the gift exchange.

These kids are: Landen (I think - you'll see why in a minute), Joel, Jonathan, Keely, Jillian, Harrison, Reese, Sophie, and Abby.
Then there was Jared, Logan, Landen, Joel, Jonathan, and Keely.

My precious babies loving on each other and being patient as they wait for the excitement.

Harrison with my cousin Dylan. Harrison just walked right over there and wanted to be picked up. Dylan was convinced Harrison liked him. Nathan said, "You are a skinny guy with dark hair. He thinks you're dad." Who knows? But H sat there for a while with Dylan.

Harrison was ready to open his first Christmas present. Yes, he got presents last year but at 5 weeks old, he wasn't really up for opening them. This time, he was ready.

And pretty excited...

Meanwhile, Jillian opened her present to find something that had been on her list for a couple of years now...

And was pleased with what she found.

Harrison had located a hammer. It was a good day to be him.

Harrison was still working on the rest of his present, but notice Jillian laying on hers because she was so excited to get her Blizzard maker. Yes, we can now make ice cream full of other fattening stuff in our own home now.

A man and his hammer have a special bond :).

There are 11 cousins on this side of family. Seven of us were able to make it to the festivities this weekend. Poor Dylan was the only boy - as his brother wasn't able to make it.

Photographic proof that Sheri is still the pester-pot in our family. Hehehe. She and John David are approaching their 10-year anniversary, so they have earned the right to have a little PDA.

We had several gag gifts in the Dirty Santa game this year. Brooke got the Razorback cap. It was very cute, but I only wish that her Sooner fan husband would have gotten. That might have made my day.

This picture is blurry but I had to include it because of Mandy and Matt's faces (as well as Abby's once I looked closely). Matt got one of the other gag gifts. My Aunt Diane was crying before he even got it opened up. This picture was snapped when Matt is getting the idea of what is coming.

The gift: Pink, fuzzy, footied pjs. We think they will be a tad small for Matt!

While we played Dirty Santa, Harrison found a great place to play - under the table. He would peek out at us and make sure we were still paying attention to him and his pen (blame Papa for the pen).

It was another great day to celebrate Christmas and be with people we love. I wish we could do it more often and spend more time together. I always leave with a smile on my face and joy in my heart.
