The principal took a selfie with the 3 kiddos who achieved the highest grades for their respective grades.
Then tonight my little man graduated from preschool. While we waited on it to begin, the school had some slides going. Some of the slides were things the kids had said. Please note that on this first one, the question was "What's the best thing that can happen to you?" and my son's response was, "I want to see Jesus."
I loved this one because you definitely see his personality coming through. When asked where he wanted to live when he grew up, he answered, "wherever I want."
They sang us several songs about being graduates and heading off to kindergarten. They gave each child an award based on their personality. Harrison got (and anyone who knows him will not be surprised) the Stupendous Storyteller award. He is definitely good at that.
He got his diploma from Mrs. Dana. She is the director of the school, and we have just loved her. She has a daughter Jillian's age, so we have known each other for several years now. She has been so kind and gracious to us over the last 3 years, and we are so appreciative of her.
His teacher, Mrs. Lacey, has the patience of Job, I tell you. She has dealt with more than her fair share of mess this year with H, but she has kept coming back. And she even seemed sad that he wouldn't be returning. I told her it was sweet for her to act that way, but she assured me it was legitimate.
Harrison made some sweet friendships at his preschool. This is his friend, Ty. They have enjoyed each other's company a lot but won't be attending the same school in the fall. I haven't told H that yet, No reason to share that sad news with him.
I have paid for my last child care. My kiddos are both done for this school year. We have a piano recital on Sunday and that will officially end all school year activities. I have 2 more days with semester tests, and then I can put year 18! in the books. I will not lie - I am ready. This year has exhausted me, and I am very ready for some calm. And I do plan on committing to blogging at least once a week once summer starts (that and reading - I have missed that a lot).
