Growing, Impressing, and Puking

Harrison went for his six month check-up today. Everything was great. He weighed in at 17 pounds - the 40th percentile. He was 27" long - the 71st percentile. Apparently genetics are playing a big role for him - his father's, not mine. He showed the doctor how well he sits up. He grabbed at stuff to show that he has good eyesight and motor skills. The doctor said his nose was a little stuffy - this we know - but that his ears looked great and his chest sounded perfect. Basically, all was well in the world of Harrison.

And then the nurses came to give him his shots. He cried so hard he wasn't breathing. He finally took a big breath but then just screamed louder. After the shots, they give him an oral vaccine. At his two month appointment, that stuff made him stop crying. They say it is sweet, and he seemed to like it. At this four month appointment, he wasn't as impressed but he took it. Today he was crying so hard that they had a hard time getting to stay in. When they finally got it in there, he continued to cry which led to coughing. And, you guessed it, he ended up throwing it up. The yucky stuff went all over the rag, on the floor, and down my shirt. Then we had to wait around to see if he needed to get it again since the first one was obviously not going to help anything. The doctor said that wasn't recommended, so Harrison and I loaded up and came home. He ate a super good lunch and is now back to being asleep.

We are hoping he wakes up happy and not cranky. The tylenol will have worn off by the time he wakes up :(. So he was perfect and we don't have to worry about anymore shots for another 6 months. Yippee!!
