Harrison is 3 weeks old today. He went for a weight check yesterday and he had gained ONE ounce since last week. Not good. He didn't lose any weight, so we are trying to focus on the positive. Doctors like for a child to gain half an ounce every day at this point in life, and Harrison gaining one ounce in six days is not really on target. He is still peeing and pooping - a lot. He goes from 10 o'clock at night to 5 or 6 in the morning without eating. I have to wake him up to eat during the day. He really isn't showing any signs of starving or really even being hungry, but he eats well every three hours. He just isn't gaining weight. We are going back next Wednesday. If he hasn't gained enough at that point, we will have to supplement with formula for a little while until he starts chunking up a little. Nathan said to tell the doctor it had taken him 34 years to get to 165 pounds so not to worry. Easier said than done.
We are officially ready for Christmas now because Harrison's stocking is hanging from the mantel. I went and picked it up yesterday and got them hung this morning.

Jillian is still loving having Harrison around. The other night I was putting her to bed and laid him down with her. He wasn't loving it quite as much as she was, but it was still pretty precious.

We are now giving a real bath, and he really likes it. Of course, he could not have liked it any less than he liked the sponge bath he had been getting. He hated those, so we didn't really have anywhere to go but up.

Tomorrow I am Christmas shopping with my sisters. We always have such a good time and I am really looking forward to it. I have a few little things to take care of, but I feel pretty good about where I am so far. That is kind of strange because most years I would not be thrilled at still shopping on the 10th of December, but with the baby coming when he came, I am happy at the thought of maybe being finished by the 10th of December. It really is all about perspective.
We have our first Christmas celebration this weekend with my mom's side of family. I am looking forward to seeing the extended family and sharing a fun, loud, sweet time with them.
Next weekend we will have Christmas with Nathan's family. And then the next weekend we'll do all the normal Christmas Eve and Christmas day stuff. It is a busy time but I am hoping that we can stay focused on what we are truly celebrating.
