Mrs. Mills is Home From Washington

Since I last wrote, I have been to the nation's capital and back.   I have spent time with my in-laws and my parents.   And I have been home for 2 days in a row.   On Saturday, June 8th, I boarded a plane and away I went to Washington.  Without my family.   I love to travel.  And I love to fly.   But every time, it gets harder to leave my babies.   We had a wonderful week in DC.   The weather was good (while people here at home were dealing with yucky heat).  Those who traveled with us were great.   We thought we might have a little hiccup on the way home, (in terms of delayed flights, missed connections, etc) but as it turned out, everything went ridiculously smooth.

While I was away, they got going on the house.   Nathan kept me posted with pictures.   They got the footings done and delivered the cinder blocks so they could work on the foundation.    They started the foundation yesterday afternoon and were there working this morning.   This means we should be in the house before Christmas, but we could be in by late October or early November.    This seems crazy, knowing that we played the waiting game for what felt like forever, but everything seems to be going lightning fast now.   We still have not settled on a brick or window.   We are going to have to get that done - sooner rather than later.

We have been working on potty training these last 2 days with moderate success.  He has had some accidents but he has gone quite a few times in the potty.  And in one big step in the right direction, when he was in the bath last night, he told me he had to go potty.   He got out of the tub, went potty, and then got back in.   It was the first time he was told us he was ready to go.

I am hoping that in the next couple of weeks, since we have very little going on, we can get this taken care of.   Please, please, please.

We find all kinds of ways to entertain ourselves while we spend lots and lots of time in the bathroom.   Harrison likes to wear this softball helmet.   And sometimes Mr. Potato Head glasses.

He also likes to smile big for the camera.

We read books and sing songs.   I videoed him yesterday singing "Twinkle, Twinkle" and the ABCs.   Super sweet.  He, like his mother, has a song in his heart.   It is good to see that gene get passed on.

I will have pictures of the house building eventually.   I should have taken my camera out there already, but I have not.   I promise to do it soon.
