It's Beginning to Look Like a House

They have completed the cinder block "wall" for the foundation.   In these pictures, it isn't quite finished, but they were working this evening to wrap it up.   Tomorrow they will start getting the plumbing stuff in place.

This picture is of the back of the house.   This is the garage.
Where the cinder blocks are missing is our bedroom and bathroom.
This is a good view of the front porch.
Once they rough-in the plumbing and some electrical stuff, they will pour the foundation.   After that, we will be in another waiting mode.   The framer is busy on another house, and it will be about 3 weeks before he is ready to do ours.   From there, things should move fairly quickly.

We do think we have decided on a brick color.   We need to drive around and see some real houses with it (we have seen one but the mortar was different than what we will get).   It is a deep, rich red (sorry, Jen).   We haven't decided on our siding yet, but we have it narrowed down.    Once that is decided, we can decide on some windows and then the roof.   I hope to get a lot of the major decisions out of the way before I go back to work.  But there are a lot of decisions to make.   I have to not think about it and go one at a time.  It would be overwhelming to do it any other way.

Ha! Well, deep rich red is very pretty. I was thinking more along the lines of that orangey-tomato color of red. I read this last night around midnight when I was trying to settle down and go to sleep after traveling all day. I dreamed that I was getting a tour of your new home. All I can tell you is that the kitchen was fantastic, but very modern. I was surprised by that but I loved it -- opaque glass on a few cabinets, lots of straight lines. You also had a big stripe painted around your walls that I wasn't too sure of. Funny dream!
