A Few Things I Know

1.   It looks like the buyers have all their stuff situated and the sell of our house is on.   We will find out a closing date tomorrow.

2.  Leaving this house is going to much more difficult than I ever imagined.   As the days roll by, I am becoming acutely aware of all that we will be leaving behind.

3.  My children sitting in front of the fire together more than melts my heart.
4.   My daughter would rather watch television than pay attention to her mother with a camera.
5.  My son has learned the word ornery.   It is ridiculously cute.   And he tends to use it correctly, because when you ask him who is ornery, he says, "PopPop on-wy."   At least he knows what it means ;).

6.  We have 4 weeks left before Spring Break, but those 4 weeks include 2 history day contests.   It will not be an easy 4 weeks.

7.  We have no place to go - as of right now - when we sell our house.  We have seen one 3 bedroom apartment, but Nathan and I were both a little uncomfortable with that situation.  We are now considering a 2 bedroom that is brand-new but will require some sacrifice and patience on everyone's part.

8.  It makes me happy when other people brag on my kids. Yesterday Jillian took some money to Wal-Mart
She decided she wanted to buy herself some flowers.   She paid before I did.   She took care of the entire transaction on her own.   Once it was my turn, the cashier said, "I have to give you props on your kids.  I was really impressed that she paid for that by herself.   It was very adult." It is always good to hear that you are doing something right.

9.  Building roads is expensive.  In this situation I am speaking literally.  We have received an estimate on building our driveway, and it is a lot of money for some dirt and rock.  It is necessary and must be completed before any other steps are taken.  That said, can't the same thing be said of figurative roads as well.   They can be costly, but building those roads between people is necessary and must come first in order to have a good relationship.

10.  Forgiveness isn't easy, but it is the first thing Jesus did from the cross.  Before he took care of any other business, he forgave his aggressors.  Do Christians share that same spirit?  Something to think about.
