Sweet Days of Summer Life

We haven't accomplished a lot since we got home from vacation. I took the kids to mom and dad's on Monday and Tuesday. Jillian and I cleaned house yesterday. But overall, we have been very laid back this week.

We feed Harrison his food and then wait about 30 minutes before offering him a bottle. He doesn't take a bottle if you give it to him right after he eats . On Monday he ate his cereal and was sitting with Jillian in the "wait" time. I noticed that he was being awfully quiet. This is how I found him. He likes big sis a lot and was quite comfortable up close to her. Also on Monday... I was running around trying to get ready to hit the road for Yell County and left the kids playing in Harrison's room. I was packing, gathering trash, and getting all Harrison's food together. I came into his room and found that Jillian was reading to him. He was kicked back and taking it all in.

Nathan sat him in the grass on Wednesday evening. He wasn't sure what to think about that. He didn't fuss or anything but he just looked at it like it was something bizarre.
I love this picture - but I hate the bug on his face. It was the only picture where he grinned big at us and that stupid bug landed on him as soon as he did. One of the joys of summer, I suppose.

We are in the process of getting rid of the pacifier, but we are taking baby steps. Since we got home from my parents', he has only gotten it when he was ready to sleep. No wake time with the pacifier. He has done remarkably well. I haven't braved taking it away when it is time to sleep yet. Maybe next week. You might want to pray for that one. He likes his paci a lot when he is sleeping. That might be a little harder habit to break.
