Merry Christmas 2015

"For no word from God will ever fail." - Luke 1:37

I love the above translation of Luke 1:37 (which is often read, "For nothing is impossible with God," and I also love). In our world today I believe that it is very important that we remember that God's Word will never fail. It simply cannot. Which brings me to another point. Have you ever listened to and paid attention to all the verses of the Christmas carols? This Christmas season I have been struck by one of the verses of It Came Upon A Midnight Clear.

For Lo! the days are hastening on,
By prophets seen of old,
When with the ever-circling years
shall come the time foretold,
When the new heaven and earth shall own
The Prince of Peace, their king,
And the whole world send back the song
Which now the angels sing!

Just like God's people in the days of Jesus birth were looking and waiting for the Messiah, we await Him still. The world is a scary place these days but I think it is important that remember that "No word from God will ever fail."

Merry Christmas!
