And So It Has Begun

The 2013-14 school has officially kicked off.    Jillian and I followed through on our normal first day traditions.   I took some pictures outside and then we headed to the school.   When we got to the parking lot, I told her we were going to pray for her and her teachers.   I got to "Dear God, Thank you for Jillian," before I started crying.  Jillian said maybe this is not a tradition we should continue if I am going to cry.  

Jillian has two teachers that seem to be very enthusiastic and fabulous this year.   I am hoping she will have another fabulous year.  She has big goals.  She would like to read 4 million words this year.  

This little guy spent the first day of school with his Nanny.   Carole had an appointment today, so Mom came up and spent last night.   They spent the day together - snuggling and sharing my kisses, apparently.   He is now in the process of sword fighting with Jillian.   From the sound of it, I believe he is getting the best of her.

Hope the school year started off smoothly for all my Arkansas friends.   As a teacher, I am just thrilled to have that first day stuff over for another year.  Tomorrow we can move on to some more exciting stuff.  Hallelujah!
