Pumpkin Carving 2011

Let the pumpkin carving begin! Our tradition continued this year with a new element thrown into the mix - Harrison! It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and we enjoyed the sunshine and nice weather as much as the pumpkin.

Here is Jillian beginning to dig out the inside stuff. She loves this part so much :)! Can't you tell?

Harrison's first time to stick his hand in the pumpkin. He was unsure of this activity. With all the stuff he is into (and he is into A LOT), he didn't really care to get involved in this one.

Jilly with her pumpkin hands. She really doesn't like this kind of thing in normal life, but she sets aside her issues - just this once a year.

Harrison found that the seeds looked like something he should put in his mouth - surprise!

Jillian draws the face and Nathan carves it out. If you know Nathan, I am always more than a little nervous when he has a knife in hand. If he did it often, I suspect we would be down a digit or two. Luckily he came away unscathed this time around.

Harrison and Mommy have some up-close time.

Our pumpkin bride. She used her creativity to use the pumpkin top as a bouquet and pretended she was getting married. I love her thinking outside the box.

Another fall activity is in the books. We are quickly approaching Little Man's big birthday. I ordered the birthday party supplies yesterday. It is a little bittersweet. I am loving that he walks and communicates more. He gives me kisses and claps when he knows he has done something well. But I can't stand the thought of my baby being so big. Alas, I know I can't keep him from growing up, so I am embracing (or trying to) every little step of the way.
