It is February - I know. I haven't even been on here in almost a month. Like most days, I have so many thoughts swirling around, but I am unconvinced that a blog is the appropriate place to air them. In this season of politics (so many opinions, so little nice to say), Super Bowls, and general life experiences, what I think doesn't really seem to help or add anything. So I guess I have just been quiet. There is a first for everything.
Our little world has been rocking along. Nathan is reffing again this year, but we are already halfway through with that. Jillian is on her Quiz Bowl team and taking piano lessons. She advanced to the Regional History Day contest, so we will be working hard getting her project ready for the next round of competition. Harrison has gotten interested in reading books but has also started throwing fits on occasion. I am a little stumped about how to handle him. We don't give into him. We remove him from the situation. Spank him. Lecture him. Parenting him makes me tired - some days.
This time next month we will be looking right at Spring Break and looking forward to some rest and relaxation. The goal is to sleep in, get some housework done, take care of a couple of appointments, celebrate a birthday or two, and get ready for the final push to the end. The school year is going fast - as it always does - so I am sure I will blink and we will be there. It is already February!
