Today I am thankful for hope. A dear man from our Sunday School class passed away today. He just recently feel ill. It has been an extremely fast process, but he was ready for the outcome. He told his family he was ready to go home. And his wife posted today that the Lord had taken him home this afternoon.
Our dear friend was the picture of meekness and was one of God's most faithful servants. His family is sad tonight but they grieve as people with hope. They know they will see him again, and that he is not suffering tonight. He is rejoicing with Jesus.
So tonight I am thankful that God - knowing that life on this sinful earth could not end well - provided a hope that sustains us. A hope that Heaven is for real. That Jesus is the ultimate healer. And that we will worship Him in His presence in His time.
