Hello, Stranger

I have been absent from my blog for several weak and no good reasons.  The biggest one just seems to be an overwhelming sense of nothing to share.  Life is moving forward but not much of it is newsworthy.  In the last month we have seen Spring come to life.  I just love it.  I don't love the sinus headache that has plagued me throughout the last couple of days, but I do love the pretty flowers, the smell of fresh cut grass, and the wonderful temperatures.

I was awarded a little recognition at State History Day.  I was selected as the senior division Teacher of the Year for the state.  It is an honor to be recognized for years of work and effort.  That does mean that I am going to the National competition which was not on my summer agenda.  Jillian will go with me again, so we will have a great time in the big city.

We are doing the One Thousand Gifts Bible study at church. It is a different style of study than we are used to, but it definitely brings some things to light.  I am writing down 3 things every day that are "gifts" that I might usually have missed.  The goal is get to 1000 in a year's time.  We will see. Right now I am enjoying looking for things that I might normally overlook.  Noticing and being thankful.

School is almost over and summer is almost here.  I am ready.  My kids are ready.  Even Harrison keeps asking if this is his last week of school.  "No, son, it is not.  But it is getting close."  One day closer.
