Easter 2015

Our Easter festivities were abundant as usual.  We dyed eggs, hunted eggs, went to church, ate a big lunch and hunted more eggs.  We will start with the dyeing of the eggs.  Harrison was a little impatient as he was on his fourth egg when many were just getting started on their first.

Life lesson:  if you make silly faces and refuse to smile at me, you end up on the blog.  Making a silly face.

On Easter morning we get up and go look for candy/eggs.  There was a small bit of wait time, so my girl entertained herself.
Harrison was very ready.  Parenting fail right here, y'all.  I swear and promise that I do not mention the Easter bunny to him.  We hide candy and eggs but I don't make a big deal out of the Easter bunny. I try every year to make sure that he knows what the true meaning of Easter is.  We discuss the crucifixion and the resurrection - as best you can with a four-year-old.  But when I showed him his Easter church outfit he said, "No!  On Easter we put on our shoes with our pajamas and go out and hunt eggs."  It is apparently the only thing he remembers about Easter - sadly.
On your mark, get set, go!

We went to my parents' church which always offers some great Bible teaching.  Harrison attended Big Church with us, and he did remarkably well.  I was afraid we would have "that kid" but he sat still enough and quiet enough to appease his mommy.

After church we took a few little family pictures.  Just keepin' it real, people.  This is how those pictures started...
Midway through, this is what it looked like...
And this is the best one (on the camera, Nathan had got a better one on his phone).   At least everyone is smiling.
And this is little Gavin.  He is my cousin's baby boy and this was not his first Easter, but it was his first one to be mobile and able to do a little hunting.  He is the yummiest thing.
Just like many holidays, there were some hard things about this Easter.  We missed our loved ones who were present with us this time last year.  Their presence was noticeably absent.  But we still rejoice in our risen Savior.  We know that He reigns and that helps a lot.
