First Day of School 2014

So I am a few days late...   Monday I was worn out.  Tuesday I was even more worn out and had the kind of the day that made you want to go to bed and hope tomorrow will be better.    Yesterday - well, I have no real excuse except that I honestly didn't even think about it.  And to be truthful, I didn't think of it today either.  Nathan asked if I had not posted pictures, and I was reminded.

So here is my 5th grader.  She has 4 teachers this year, a locker, and all kinds of goals.   She hopes to read 7 million words before the end of the year.  She tested today on the books she read over the summer (trust me, that is legal - I asked).   She said her word count was already about 500,000.   So we shall see.
The.story.of.my.life...   Harrison was not interested in having his picture made.   He went to preschool last year but he didn't start until September.  This was his first time to be a part of the process.  Would not hear of it.
I mean really would not...
This is Jillian and her homework teacher, Mrs. Miller.  She seems very nice and is very peppy.  She teaches science.
And my traditional picture of her sitting at her desk.  I won't get to do this next year, because they won't let me at the middle school - or so I have been told.   She is having a good time, liking her teachers, and likes the switching classes several times a day.  She says it makes the day go by fast.
Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of the school year.   It will be over in a blink.   The first week has just flown by.  As I told my seniors today, "it will go so fast that it will feel like you graduate tomorrow."  They were not as excited about that as I thought.  It will come.  This is I know for sure.

Harrison cracks me up! but I understand your frustration, too! 5th grade is a big deal! the year of switching teachers, I remember being so nervous about that, ha! and why won't they let you in?!?! I plan to walk my boys into their classroom until they're seniors! HA!
