Saturday was so nice. Nathan got up and worked with our widow ministry at church and then we headed off to the park. We really had a wonderful time - until the very end (but isn't that how it usually goes?).
I have a monkey or two that I call mine.
At the beginning, Harrison would slide with me but not alone. By the end, he decided he would do it "self" and enjoyed that immensely.
When all else fails, hang around for a little while.
But be careful on the dismount. It will get you every time.
"I thought I wanted to swing, but maybe not so much."
Cousin It decided to join us ;).
Every once-in-a-while I get a really cool picture. I really like this first one.
My daughter does some strange things on these monkey bars. She decided that rather than cross them normally, she would hang upside down and scoot her way across. The first time she tried this she couldn't get down so I tried to assist her. Note to self: when the child who is almost as big as you is trying to get down off of something that is significantly taller than you, helping will not help in the end. We both ended up on the ground - well, she was on the ground, I was kind of on top of her. Luckily, she was fine and so was I. The second time she figured out a way to get down herself. Everyone was much happier that time around.
It was a great spring weekend. Nathan and I went out to dinner. We played at the park. I picked up trash with our National Honor Society kids. We played outside here at the house yesterday where my 9-year-old finally started riding her bicycle. We have worked on it some here and there, but she has had a rather defeatist attitude. Out of boredom and upon the recommendation of her mother, she gave it another try. SUCCESS! (We won't mention all the trials, torture and exasperation that came before the success - just that it came.)

They are so adorable Erin! Harrison looks so serious in the pictures.
