She Did It

My disobedient girl did what I told her not to - she has grown up and switched schools and started the 3rd grade.   I tried up to the last minute to get her to change her mind but to no avail.   

Our tradition of getting her picture sitting at her new desk.   I decided today that I might should have thought about that a little more back when she started.   I have a feeling she isn't going to let me walk her into her 7th grade year and take her picture on the first day.   Maybe she'll surprise me.

I don't usually take pictures of my room at school but since I had the camera there today, I decided I would.  I should have some photographic evidence of my career.   This is the view when you first walk in the room.

We had a good day.   Jillian seems to have enjoyed her first day a lot.   She went to art and said it was Rules day, but then she said it was her favorite thing because the art teacher was funny!   Now that is talent - to get a third grader to like Rules Day the best!  My day was a typical first day - and I am glad it is done.   Wednesday we will get started on the actual subject matter which makes me a much happier teacher.
