Nathan and Jillian have spent this weekend at the lake with his family. I usually go up on Saturday and spend the day and then return home to my bed and shower at the end of the day (as I don't sleep in tents), but Harrison is just not ready for that kind of fun just yet. He and I visited our Pea Ridge family on Friday and Saturday and came home to just the two of us. My parents had purchased this pirate ship water toy for Christmas. We knew it would be a hit this summer. After dinner I got H in his swim diaper and filled the pirate ship up. He had a big time splashing around.
He may be a boy, but he hates to have dirt and the like on his fingers and feet. After he got all wet, he had to have a moment to try and get some of the stuff off his feet.
As you know we have been working on potty training (without much success) this summer. For reasons I cannot explain, he seems to have suddenly taken interest. Last night he kept reaching for that area and saying, "TT". So after the second or third time of that I took off his diaper and he went in the yard. About bedtime he started saying it again. He wasn't interested in being in the bathroom so I took him back outside and he went again. I am not stupid and I realized that I was beginning a dangerous pattern, so today after church we worked on going in the toilet. He went again. I had been trying with him sitting to avoid the mess, but I guess we will go standing from now on (and clean up after).
I love water pictures. Moving water just makes for some cool pics. He was trying to pour the water on his head. He didn't have a lot of success with that...
but he kept trying...
and then...
he got himself right in the face.
Wish us luck as we continue on this potty training thing. I cannot tell you how much I would love to have this mostly taken care of by the time I return to school. It makes me almost giddy to think about.
