On this day a few years ago, a baby boy was born. He was born at his family's home, which sat upon a hill - a hill he lives on today. He was born to fabulous parents who raised him up to be a man of hard work and integrity. This day and that baby are pretty important to me because that baby grew up to be my dad. Happy Birthday, Dad! I hope you have had a great day.
Also on this day - 14 years ago - I reported to work for my second summer at the Arkansas Baptist Assembly church camp in Siloam Springs. That might not sound like a big deal, but that means it was on this day that I met a tall, skinny fellow named Nathan. I told him the other day that we had an anniversary coming up - the 14th anniversary of the day when he looked at me and said, "I can't live without her." My husband, funny guy that he is, said something about how that didn't happen when he first saw me. (That part is true, by the way, but I like to pretend it isn't.)
Basically, it is a good day. Hope your June 7th means something to you today.
