My Sunday School class is spending this quarter talking about grace. What an eye-opening experience this has been! I have come to realize that this world is full of graceless Christians and I have been one of them a good portion of the time. Then yesterday I went to a workshop for school. One of the things we talked about was that we are responsible for the way we choose to respond. Isn't it funny how God uses a completely secular mode to get across a spiritual message?
Sure, I can say I am just not a compassionate person. I can say that I am insensitive and that is just the way that I am. But here is the truth - I choose to respond that way. I could show grace and I opt to not do so. It doesn't have anything to do with my personality. It has to do with my calloused heart and my lack of understanding of the grace God shows me every day.
So pray for me, because I am working on choosing to respond with grace.
