Pelt Christmas 2013

I am way behind on my blog.   I really think that the 2 months we spent without internet just really got me out of the habit.   And as I spend 4 solid days sitting here the week after Christmas and then all day yesterday because of bad weather, the thought just didn't even occur to me.   Sad, I know.   Maybe I can get back in the swing of things as I try to catch up.

I believe that our extended family is probably unconventional.   Unconventional in a good way, though.   My cousins and aunts and uncles are some of my favorite people.   And while we don't see each other often, we love getting together.   It is a highlight of my holiday season to spend the day with these folks and enjoy their company for a few hours.
Here are the kiddos waiting patiently to open their gifts.   We let them open and then go play so that the rest of us can play Dirty Santa.
Some were more patient than others...
The adults and bigger kids ready for Dirty Santa.
Aunt Dana, Mom, and Aunt Lyn
Our Dirty Santa really is legitimate gifts but my Aunt Diane likes to throw in a few gag gifts.   Cousin Katie got this Duck Dynasty thing.  She was a great sport and modeled it for us.   I promise you would not have recognized her if you didn't watch her put it on.
Another gag gift - the singing, dancing hat.  Uncle Jimmy got it this year.   It couldn't have happened to a better person.
But the kids really like it, too.
Another successful Pelt Christmas has passed.   But we will be together again soon because the baby of the cousins, Brittany, is expecting her first baby.  We will get to hang out again soon at the shower for her.   Super excited - for the new baby and being with my people!
