Daily Dose of Humility

This evening I have been grading world history tests. This particular class has had really good grades. So good that I have questioning how they got such high scores. I told Nathan that "I am not this good of a teacher" but in my heart, you can't help but think to yourself, "I did it! They got it because I am that good." And then I get to a test that gave me the following answers:

New Agriculture is important because it spread the knowledge of different ways of speaking, writing and cultural differences.

Romanesque Architecture: People were able to read different things and a new type of language written was the Romance side of books. It was one of the many ways we choose what type of books to read today.

You can only imagine my response. I read them to Nathan (who hates history stuff, by the way) and even he was amazed. At this point I start thinking, "Surely I am not this bad of a teacher." Isn't it amusing how quickly we can go from "I'm amazing!" to "Why do I get out of bed every morning?"

On a different note, Jillian and I were discussing why she won't sleep in on Saturdays and she tells me, "My body just won't do that. My body wants to get up and watch cartoons." Who knew a person could crave Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny?
