The End of Swim Season

The swim season is officially over. Jillian ended the season on a high note by winning her heat in freestyle and backstroke as well as coming in 6th overall in her age group in breaststroke.  Hopefully next year she won't miss 3 weeks worth of practice as well as have one meet cancelled.  Today the team celebrated with a (what else) swim party at the water park. Families were invited to swim so little man got to have some fun as well.

Jillian getting a high 5 from her friend. She enjoys getting to spend some time with that young lady because they go to different schools, so swim season is all the time they have together. When we were leaving the girl said, "See you next year, Jillian!"

Jillian has been working on her front flip this summer.  She has struggled a little bit with a hard surface but today she nailed it with the spring board at the park.

Another summer season is over. Work resumes for me in about 5 days. And I go back and forth on being ready or not - depending on my the behavior of my children. I, much like the children, will be excited to be with my friends. I do appreciate the routine that comes with school getting back into session. But I miss the lazy mornings, productivity at home, and the all day snuggles with my baby. I suppose summer break is like everything else in the world - complete with pros and cons.
