Let Me Explain

Please allow me to explain my prolonged absence.   We got moved last weekend, but we don't have our internet (or cable or telephone) yet set up.  We were shocked when they told us in mid-October that it would take 60-90 days to get that hooked up and going.   We are making due, but it means not much blogging in the meantime.

I am not quite ready to post pictures of the interior of the house.  We have made some significant progress but it needs a big cleaning and some stuff hung on the walls.   We will be hosting a birthday party in a couple of weeks, so I do have a goal for getting the whole thing finished.   It is a bigger chore than I anticipated.   When we moved in the spring, we didn't unpack a lot of things and we did not decorate since we were not staying there.  When we moved into our house (back in 2001), we did not have children.  This is our first move where we have 4 people to settle in, a big bunch of yard work, and decorating to do.   It is a lot, y'all.

I will show you my view from my back door.  Yesterday morning as we were preparing for church, I looked outside.  The sun was shining.  The fall colors were vibrant.  There was frost on the ground.   It was a great reminder of how blessed we are -  this whole moving thing has kept me from counting my blessings.   I was standing in the back doorway when I took this picture.   This makes me happy.
We did do a little trick-or-treating last week.   I greatly wish that would become a thing of the past, but we will keep on keepin' on since little man is so little.   Jillian dressed as Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games.  She had recently read the book and was very excited when she found this costume.  Harrison was Spiderman.  He was very adorable.   And he LIKED getting all that candy.   That is his major and favorite food group!
I will post when I can but I make no promises about when the next one will come.   Hope the fall is treating you kindly.
