My son has been coughing and hacking for over three weeks. He ran no fever and wasn't really acting like he felt bad. He played and slept (some nights even through the coughing). I called the doctor and they told me to give him over-the-counter allergy medicine. I finally decided that I had to take him to the doctor because he was not getting better, his nose is running like a leaky faucet, and I can't keep waking up in the middle of the night to the tune of his coughing. As you can guess, he has a double ear infection and a bronchial infection. I am pretty sure the doctor thought I was a terrible mom for not bringing him in sooner. And the thought did enter my mind, as well. (In my defense, I was trying desperately to avoid the doctor's office with all this awful sickness going on.)
My son is also a lot like his father. He knows what he wants when he wants it and isn't afraid to tell you. Last night I was putting him to bed and talking to him. I was expressing how I hoped he felt much better in the morning. He lifted his head from my shoulder, put his hand toward my mouth, and said, "No! Song." Apparently he was tired of my talking (another way he is like his daddy) and wanted me to sing. You might want to pray for his wife starting now.

You are so funny Erin! We have all been there. I am note winning any award either in that department this year! I hope he is better soon.
