The Joy of Pets

Nathan bought Jillian a small fish bowl for Christmas. This week he and Jillian actually bought a couple of fish - Gurgle and Gurgle Smoodge. This morning we awoke to death of Gurgle Smoo. We didn't tell Jillian until after school and she was devastated. She ran to her room and cried and cried. It was heartbreaking. So tonight she and I went and bought 3 more little fish. One died within 2 hours of being back at home. So we cried some more as we flushed Fish Food (the new fish's name) down the toilet. At this rate, Jillian will either be the most resilient child when it comes to fish or she is going to be permanently damaged. Only time will tell......
